The Story of Elizabeth and Devin: A Dream Elopement in Florence
Dear future brides,
I am Sara Tusset, and today I am sharing the wonderful love story of Elizabeth and Devin, a couple I had the honor of helping to realize their dream of an elopement in Italy, in the splendid city of Florence.
Elizabeth and Devin met on an app in February 2020. After exchanging a few messages, they decided to meet in person, and their first date was at Ambar restaurant in Arlington, Virginia. Elizabeth was extremely nervous, but Devin immediately sensed something special in her. Despite Elizabeth’s anxiety, both were eager to see each other again.
Their connection grew through a series of dates, but then COVID hit, forcing Elizabeth to return to Pennsylvania. It seemed like a crucial moment for their relationship: continue getting to know each other long-distance or leave behind what they had started? Yet, during that challenging time, something extraordinary happened: Elizabeth and Devin began having video calls every night, building an unbreakable bond.
When Elizabeth returned to the Washington, D.C. area in May 2020, Devin asked her to officially be his girlfriend. Almost two years later, on December 11, 2021, Devin proposed to her. And the rest, as they say, is history.
To celebrate their love, Elizabeth and Devin chose to elope to Italy and entrusted my agency, Sara Tusset Wedding, to organize an unforgettable elopement. Florence, with its charm and history, was the perfect setting for their special day.
The sun shone high in the sky as Elizabeth and Devin exchanged vows in a secret garden overlooking the city.
The Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, silent witnesses of their love, made the atmosphere even more magical.
Every detail, from the floral decorations to the romantic dinner at a Florentine restaurant, was arranged with love and dedication.
The day was perfect, a true dream come true. Elizabeth and Devin, with their smiles and palpable love, made Florence an even more special place. And I, as their wedding planner, couldn’t be happier to have been part of their incredible story.
